Helen joined STARS Dorset in 2016 and has led the charity’s dedicated team through a period of significant growth and transformation, including its rebranding from Dorset Rape Crisis Support Centre

Working closely with the Board of Trustees, she has strengthened governance and driven strategic development to ensure survivors in Dorset receive the highest quality support. 

Helen is passionate about STARS Dorset’s vision of “a society free from abuse” and continues to lead its next phase of growth through initiatives like Interstellar Dorset Ltd.

Prof Peter Hills is a psychologist by training, having completed his PhD in 2008 from Cardiff University. Having developed his research skills, he found his calling to investigate and evaluate ways to reduce sexual violence. 

Through proper statistical and qualitative evaluations, he is able to design and test campaigns and educational material that aim to reduce sexual violence. He applies this knowledge to his work as a Director of Interstellar.

Hayley is an integrative counsellor with a warm, relational approach, specialising in domestic abuse, sexual, and complex trauma.

She offers a safe, non-judgemental space for clients to be heard, reflect, and find new perspectives for healing and growth.

Linda is an experienced Attachment-Based Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist with over thirty years’ experience in mental health, therapy education, and supervision. She is the Attachment Theory Consultant to The Bowlby Centre and Kitchen Sessions and serves as Series Editor for an upcoming book series published by Karnac in collaboration with UKCP.

Zoe is a UKCP-registered Psychotherapist and experienced Trainer and Consultant, with over thirty years’ experience supporting survivors of rape, sexual assault, and childhood sexual abuse. She is widely recognised for her expertise in human responses to perceived threats, particularly sexualised trauma, and provides training and consultation to professionals working with victims and survivors.

Christiane Sanderson, BSc, MSc, is an Honorary Senior Lecturer in Psychology at the University of Roehampton with over 35 years of experience supporting survivors of childhood sexual abuse and sexual violence. She is a respected trainer, consultant, and author of numerous influential books on trauma, abuse, and recovery.

Alison is a UKCP-accredited Psychotherapist, Certified Transactional Analyst, and Senior Lecturer at Bournemouth University. She specialises in trauma-informed practice and is passionate about supporting individuals living with complex trauma through safety, reflection, and understanding.
